PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

Reporting to the Vice President, Quality Assurance, the Professional Development Specialist assists teachers, providers and program administrators to enhance their professional development by ensuring educational standards are achieved in the early care and education field.

Essential functions include assisting the QA department with implementation of training initiatives to enhance teacher/provider competencies to achieve accreditation and other quality measures;.working collaboratively with other QA staff to ensure the implementation of agency and national quality standards regarding professional development; developing educational plans and monitor educational progress for all teachers, providers, and program administrators.  The Professional Development Specialist will also provide educational support for teaching staff, providers, and program administrators (e.g., financial aid, application process, educational plans); develop and maintain collaborative relations with higher education institutions, state agencies, community-based organizations and other early education professionals; assist in obtaining funding for the work of the position; and serve as an educational resource specialist to the company by providing reports, analysis, and other materials as requested.

DIRECTOR OF CAPITAL CAMPAIGN 

Associated Early Care and Education is seeking a Senior Level Capital Campaign Officer as it prepares to enter the crucial next phase of an dynamic Capital Campaign to create Boston's first of its kind comprehensive child and family development center.  S/he will manage a portfolio of 100+ prospects and solicit gifts of $50K+.  Capital Campaign Officer will report to the Director of Development.  This position is funded for two-years.

Must have Bachelor's degree, minimum of 5 years combined leadership and major gift fund-raising experience, specialized knowledge related to planned giving and major gifts fund-raising; strong leadership skills; excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills; strong PC skills, to include Raiser's Edge and WealthEngine; and extensive experience working with volunteers.

Social Worker

 

Currently, we are seeking a Social Worker to work in one or more of Associated Early Care and Education programs (some travel may be required), provide clinical and social services to children and families, and mental health consultation and training to program staff. The qualified candidate will provide clinical supervision to graduate interns.  Essential functions include but are not limited to: Comprehensive psychosocial assessment of children ages 0 to 6 and their families, Cooperative goal setting with families, Parent guidance and supportive counseling, Resource and referral services for families, Individual play therapy with children, Groups for parents and/or children Case management, including coordination of services and collaboration with outside providers, Classroom/provider home observation and intervention with children, Mental health consultation to teachers/providers, Training for teachers and providers in social/emotional issues, Perform other related duties as assigned 

 

COOK 

Is responsible for the storage, preparation of nutritious meals to the Jamaica Plain child care program using knowledge of agency, DOE, and Public Health code standards; and promotes all aspects of quality food service.  The qualified candidate will also participate in nutrition education activities for children, parents and staff and attend monthly in-service training sessions.

The following skills and abilities are required to perform the essential functions of the Cook position:  ability to read, write and follow verbal instructions in English; maintain records and prepare written reports; have experience in quantity cooking; ability to stand for long periods of time; and must conform to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Public Health Title X and dress codes.

ON-CALL COOK ASSISTANTS

The On-Call Float Pool is searching for Cook Assistants to temporarily cover for Cooks and Cook Assistants at our center-based programs.  The qualified candidate is responsible for the storage, preparation of nutritious meals to the child care programs using knowledge of agency, DOE, and Public Health code standards; and promotes all aspects of quality food service.
