Announcing the Groundbreaking
Tue, November 06, 2012
On Friday, November 2, 2012, Associated and partners unveiled the groundbreaking of our $16 million learning center in Bromley-Heath housing development in Jamaica Plain. Highlights included Secretary Bialecki announcing the state’s $1.5 million contribution to the project, as well as a particularly entertaining rendition of “If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands!” led by a preschool classroom at our Jamaica Plain center (right around the corner from the groundbreaking).
Our wonderful speakers included:
Secretary Greg Bialecki, Department of Housing and Economic Development
Representative Sonia Chang-Diaz, 2nd Suffolk District
Mike Durkin, President & CEO, United Way of Massachusetts Bay & Merrimack Valley
Carol Johnson, Superintendent, Boston Public Schools
Jonathan Lonske, Campaign Committee Chair and Board Member, Associated Early Care and Education
Bill McGonagle, Administrator, Boston Housing Authority
Secretary Paul Reville, Department of Education
Representative Jeffrey Sánchez, 15th Suffolk/Norfolk District
Wayne Ysaguirre, President & CEO, Associated Early Care and Education
See the Boston Globe’s article on the announcement on the Globe’s website.
