Castle Square

Established in 1969, Caste Square has grown to be one of the largest center-based child care programs in Boston. We serve 112 infants, toddlers and preschoolers (ages 2 months-6 years) who come from the surrounding neighborhoods of Chinatown, Dorchester, Roxbury, and the South End. In 1993, Castle Square was accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the highest professional standard for quality that an early childhood education program can receive. The process of accreditation involves a self-study every three years in order to meet NAEYC standards. Castle Square was re-accredited in 1996 and 1999, an indication of the center’s unwavering dedication and commitment to the center’s many families and children.

BY CAR:
FROM THE SOUTH SHORE ON 93N

• Take Exit 18 off 93N.
• Stay in right lane, go through two traffic lights.
• Bear right onto Frontage Road
• Keeping left, at second set of lights, turn left at sign, BACK BAY, onto East Berkeley Street.
• Stay on East Berkeley approx. 4-5 blocks.  East Berkeley becomes Berkeley Street at the Tremont Street intersection.
• Turn right on Tremont Street
• Turn right on Arlington Street (@ CVS)
• Take immediate right down alley to Castle Square

FROM DOWNTOWN BOSTON
• Take Tremont Street heading south
• Follow Tremont crossing the Mass Pike to Arlington Street intersection
• Take a left and turn immediately right down an alley behind CVS)
• The center is straight ahead

PARKING:
There is limited parking in the lot right outside of Castle Square.  Other available parking is on the corner of Shawmut Avenue and East Berkeley Streets.  You must access from East Berkeley.  Or you may find metered parking on Tremont Street.

BY “T”:
• Orange Line to Tufts/New England Medical Center stop
• Walk down Tremont Street towards the South End (away from downtown)
• After you cross bridge going over the Mass Pike you will see CVS on the left side
• Follow the walkway after CVS (before the long row of store fronts begins) to the back parking lot
• The center is on the right
