CENTRAL SCHOOL In 1968, Central School was founded by parents and community activists who recognized the need for a cooperative child care program, set to a backdrop that was both multicultural and economically diverse. One of the first in the United States, this program has become a nationally recognized model for cooperative child care. Central School cares for 61 multi-ethnic infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children from the Cambridge, Somerville and Boston areas. The center was accredited by NAEYC in 1998 and 2001. |
